The National Capital Competitive Program (NCCP) provides an opportunity for girls and young women in Ottawa and Eastern Ontario to enjoy playing hockey at its highest level. The dedication and commitment to excellence of the coaches and players is evident in the large number of alumni who have continued to play hockey at the university level in both Canada and the United States.

Combining of Associations Approved
The Executive of the NCCP is pleased to announce that the combining of the National Capital Competitive Program and the Kanata Girls Hockey Association has been approved and will proceed as described at the membership town hall meetings of April 7th and 8th. The power point presentation from that evening appears on each Association’s website. The first combined activities will be the upcoming tryouts for the Intermediate AA and Midget AA “Ottawa Senators”, beginning on April 24th - for more information visit the NCCP website. Next will be the tryouts for the Bantam AA and Midget AA “Kanata Rangers” starting on April 30th and May 7th respectively - more information appears on the KGHA website.

Congratulations to our Graduating Ottawa Capitals
The following NCCP players have made their university commitments for the fall 2008: Sami Evelyn - University of Connecticut, Genny Ladiges - Yale, Brianna Delaney - Robert Morris University, Marlee Fisher - Wayne State, Fanny Deforges - Ottawa University (Human Kenetics), Shannon Bellefeuille - University of Vermont (Education) and Allie White - University of Toronto (Commerce), Krista MacDonald - Carleton University (Criminology). Well done and good luck!
Six NCCP Players on 2007-2008 U18 Team Ontario
Congratulations and good wishes to our NCCP IAA Capitals players selected for the Team Ontario entry to Hockey Canada 's prestigious National Women's Under 18 National Championship to take place 7-11 November 2007 in Kitchener, Ontario! Selected are: Team Red: Genny Ladiges G (Almonte); Shannon Bellefeuille D (Kanata); Samm Evelyn D (Nepean); and Team Blue: Brianna Delaney F (Stittsville); Marlee Fisher D (Kingston); and Jamie Lee Rattray F (Kanata). Congratulations also to Steve Seguin (Ingleside) who was appointed Head Coach for Team Ontario Red!
